This course provides comprehensive introduction to the UNIX (Lunix) user services, utilities, and practical experience in developing UNIX shell scripts, its command syntax and capabilities.

Familiarity with Microsoft Windows or any other Computer Operating Systems
Upon completing this course students will have skills in:
·         Use shells and commands to create powerful data processing applications.
  • ·         Use editors and tools to create and modify data files and documents.
  • ·         Write scripts for improved productivity.
  • ·         Effectively use flow control statements (case, while and if)
  • ·         Break a large program into functions
  • ·         Use at the command line to manage data, files, and programs.
