COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course will provide students with the knowledge of grammatical structures in the basic skills of the English grammar. Based on the whole language approach the course will prepare students to use the grammar structures in different contexts. Students will achieve the ability to construct sentences with correct verb tenses, parts of speech and pronunciation, capitalization and spelling. Improved articulation and pronunciation goals will be interwoven with developing clarity and accuracy in writing. The course will enable students to personalize what they have learned in order to speak with ease about hundreds of everyday issues.
 
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
The students will be able to:
 1. Understand and practice English grammar.
 2. Gain confidence in their ability to speak and write English accurately and fluently.   
 3. Elimintae the gap between knowing grammar structures and using them.
  
METHOD OF INSTRUCTION:
Lecture presentations are combined with class discussions and practical writing assignments. Students participation is encouraged and mandatory in required assignments as well as in demonstrations, both individual and group effort. On-line databases and internet are integral parts of the course.
